Alag - Part 1
Alag (Devanagari: अलग, Nastaliq: الگ; English: Different) is a 2006 Bollywood film starring Akshay Kapoor and Dia Mirza and directed by Ashu Trikha and produced by Subi Samuel. The film is also known as Alag: He Is Different.... He Is Alone... in some other sites, example IMDB. The film takes its premise and some plot elements from the American film Powder starring Sean Patrick Flanery, although the plots of the two films diverge significantly.
Sharbani Mukherjee returns to Bollywood
Kin of the famous Mukherjee family, Sharbani Mukherjee is to begin all over again in Hindi films. She was believed to be one of the most promising actresses in the industry after the success of her debut film Border. But unfortunately fate did not smile on her for long.
She faced consecutive flops in her career after Border. Neither the family connection nor the stardom of the first film brought any big opportunity. On the other hand, her cousins Kajol [^] and Rani Mukherjee climbed the ladder, with one [^] after the other proving successful at the box office and continue to rule the industry till today.
After a small hiatus she has recently done a Malayalam film Sufi Paranja Katha. And soon she will be back in Hindi films with Sangeeth Sivan’s next. The yet untitled film is due for release in November.
Hope the brown-eyed girl succeeds to charm the audience this time!

Bollywood music
Bollywood films are generally musicals, and are expected to contain catchy music in the form of song-and-dance numbers woven into the script. A film's success often depends on the quality of such musical numbers. Songs from Bollywood movies are generally pre-recorded by professional playback singers, with the actors then lip synching the words to the song on-screen, often while dancing.
Most notable singers of Bollywood are Suraiyya, Noor Jehan, Lata Mangeshkar, Asha Bhosle, Geeta Dutt, Shamshad Begum, Alka Yagnik, etc among female playback singers and K. L. Saigal, Talat Mahmood, Mukesh, Mohammed Rafi, Manna Dey, Hemant Kumar, Kishore Kumar, Kumar Sanu, Udit Narayan, Sonu Nigam among male playback singers.
Remixing of film songs with modern beats and rhythms is a common occurrence today, and producers may even release remixed versions of some of their films' songs along with the films' regular soundtrack albums.

Bollywood Fashion
As Bollywood fashion goes, so goes South Asian fashion. For the past decade, the designers of the largest film industry in the world have been shaping the fashion of Indian and Pakistani clothing. Recently, Bollywood fashion is transcending and making a major impact on Western style as well. Things weren’t always this way. Let’s learn more about the cultural phenomenon that is known as Bollywood.
Until the late 1980s, Hindi films demonstrated limited sense of style. Clothing was either everyman clothing or way over the top garish. Bollywood designers came to the limelight ever since Manish Malhotra did those catchy numbers for Urmila Matondkar in Rangeela. It was all upwards from there. Bollywood fashion became a force to be reckoned with.
When Sushmita Sen appeared in flowing saris in a recent hit, this traditional dress got a big boost into urban style. Shamita Shetty made the sharara a hit with aptly titled “Sharara Sharara”. Finally, Priyanka Chopra made the red dupatta (stole) synonymous with Bollywood fashion.
Hindi films may have inspired Indian style over the last two decades, but the fascinating phenomenon is the transcendence of Bollywood fashion to the West. The recent tunic top craze is one example. Everyone from tween to grandmother is wanting to get one.
The recent bohemian or ethnic clothing wave is driven by Indian, and hence Bollywood fashion. Most of all, there seems to be no end in sight. TIME, MSN, and even Bella Online are unified in their praise of the hot ethnic trend. The comfort, elegance, and especially the versatility of Indian clothing are not lost to the western public. For instance, various kurtas (tunic tops) can be worn to the beach, a tea party, the mall, or even a grand formal!
Where should you look for hip Bollywood fashion? A local Indian boutique is not a bad start. Another good place is the web. Plenty of sites such as Benzer and Seasons offer good choices.

Premiere of Bollywood film ‘Kisaan’ held in Mumbai
Premiere of Bollywood flick, ‘Kisaan’, a film dedicated to the country’s farmers, took place in Mumbai last evening.
While speaking to the media, the director of the film Puneet Israar appealed to the media for its support so that the film does well at box office.
“I am hoping that the film does well. It’s a film that needs a platform and I hope that with the support of the media, we get that platform,” said Israar.
‘Kisaan’, a joint effort of Sohail Khan and UTV Spot Boys Productions, set in the Punjab heartland deals with how successive generations of farmers have farmed, toilled, bled and perspired for their precious land and how conflicts between the members of the family split the social fabric.
As a treat for the music lovers, the film also has one of the most popular patriotic songs of Bollywood from the 1967 movie of Manoj Kumar, ‘Upkaar’, ‘Mere Desh Ki Dharti’, that has been remixed with a modern day club beat.
Sohail Khan, director and actor of the movie said that he enjoyed making the film.
“The film is primarily a Hindi film, but we have tried our best to come closer to the Punjabi dialect. We chose the actual locations. The costumes were almost similar to what the actual farmers and villagers wear. So I enjoyed making the film,” said Sohail.
The star cast includes Arbaaz Khan, Jackie Shroff, Diya Mirza, Nauheed Cyrus, Dalip Tahil, and Sarfaraz Khan.

watch 'Padosan' - 1968 -full movie
A simpleton named Bhola (Sunil Dutt) falls in love with his neighbor Bindu (Saira Banu). To impress her he wants to sing to her. However, he isn't a good singer, so he uses the help of his friend, Guru (Kishore Kumar).
Guru is a famous singer and he agrees to help his friend. While Guru is singing in the back, Bhola mouths the words to songs. Bindu is charmed by what she thinks is Bhola's singing. They both start to become friends and fall in love.
Bindu has a music teacher named Master Pillai/Masterji (Mehmood). He is also in love with Bindu & is always proposing to her. Bindu loves Bhola so she refuses Masterji. One day Bindu finds out about Bhola's lie. She is very upset and refuses to meet Bhola.
In an angry rage, she decides to marry Masterji. They both prepare for the wedding, while Bhola thinks of a way to get his Bindu back. On the wedding day, Guru gets an idea. He makes Bhola pretend to have committed suicide. He puts a fake note next to Bhola.
Bhola has a noose around his neck and a chair next to him. Guru goes and tells the news to Bindu. She is shocked. She leaves her wedding altar and runs to Bhola. She reads the note and starts to repent. Bindu then tries to wake Bhola up. Bhola wakes up. Bindu is delighted.
She tells Masterji that she wants to marry Bhola and he agrees. Bhola and Bindu get married.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan (born Aishwarya Rai, and sometimes known simply as Aish, Tulu: ಐಶ್ವರ್ಯಾ ರೈ; 1 November 1973) is an Indian actress and former Miss World. Before starting her acting career, she worked as a model and gained fame after winning the Miss World title in 1994.
Often cited by media as the most beautiful woman of India, Rai made her movie debut in Mani Ratnam's Tamil film Iruvar (1997) and had her first commercial success in the Tamil movie Jeans (1998). She came to the attention of Bollywood in the movie Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam (1999), directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali.
Her performance in the film won her the Filmfare Best Actress Award. In 2002 she appeared in Bhansali's next project, Devdas (2002), for which she won her second Best Actress Award at the Filmfare. After a low phase in her career during 2003-2005, she appeared in the blockbuster Dhoom 2 (2006), which turned out to be her biggest Bollywood commercial success.
She later appeared in films like Guru (2007) and Jodhaa Akbar (2008), which were commercially successful and got her critical acclaim. Rai has thus established herself as one of the leading contemporary actresses in the Indian film industry.
During her career, Rai has acted in over forty movies in Hindi, English, Tamil and Bengali including the international productions Bride & Prejudice (2003), Mistress of Spices (2005), The Last Legion (2007) and The Pink Panther 2 (2009) in English.
